I’ll be honest, I lucked out with this Max Patch elopement. Aleisha and Trevor were looking for a last minute elopement photographer and my name got passed along to them. I think it was destiny stepping in.
Aleisha and Trevor have been together for ten years. Did you hear (er..read) that? TEN YEARS. They finally decided to tie the knot in a beautiful location as an intimate elopement. Honestly, I think it was an amazing decision and so perfect for them.
Kyle and I drove up to Waynesville, North Caroline on Saturday afternoon. We got dinner down in Asheville. We had an AMAZING, and I mean, FREAKING AMAZING burger at H&F Burgers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Annnd, then we went back to our hotel at Lake Junaluska to watch football for the night.
Sunday morning, we woke up and walked by the lake before setting off to Max Patch for our elopement. We accidentally got their an hour early annnnd didn’t have service so I couldn’t even let Aleisha know.
Finally, Aleisha, Trevor, and the whole party arrived and we started our walk up the trailhead. We were in awe with the views along the way. It was absolutely stunning with the clear day we had and the color changing leaves.
Aleisha and Trevor had their private ceremony at the top. We were lucky because there wasn’t that many people. Plus, when they kissed, the people that were camping up there cheered so that was a fun addition too.
Y’all, I just feel so lucky and blessed. I feel honored I was able to capture this day for Aleisha and Trevor and hope it was everything they could have wanted.
If you’re debating about having an elopement, do it. And if you’re looking for a location, I highly recommend Max Patch. And, then I’ll also continue to recommend me as your photographer.
Interested in elopements? I’ve shot two other small weddings/elopements during COVID and highly recommend checking them out. Just because you’re having a small ceremony or eloping just the two of you, doesn’t mean your pictures have to be compromised. Check out Caleb + Ryann or Jonny + Hailey’s small weddings.
